The Hat Library
You are now at the crossroads of the immense hat documentation of 2020 ~ 2025. We have been making hats in Oregon since 1978, time enough to accumulate a diverse collection of hat fabrics and line of hat styles. This web page and all its links are a reference towards that immense diversity. That’s why all the hats say, “$0” and “Sold Out”. Once upon a time these individual hats were for sale, now they exist as pure potential. You are welcome to inquire about any hat photograph, we probably have more of the hats’ fabric or another fabric that is similar. Maybe also we have hats in your size / similar fabric / preferred style, already in stock. We have lots of hats in our general inventory and are always making new ones. Please send requests using the Hat Library Order Form at the bottom of this page.
Our hats are designed to be washable -by hand, no washer or dryer- directions are on the sewn tag of each hat. The brims of our hats are made from layers of cloth, they can roll up to carry in your pocket. We work in all natural fabrics: cotton, linen, hemp, and wool. Although our wool hats can be worn for style anytime, they are especially good for the rain and snow. Wool is naturally resistant to water, and even if the hat gets wet through it will still keep you warm. On the other hand, being a natural fiber, it breathes; this means that if you wear our wool hats on a sunny day you will not be uncomfortable.
All our hats have a cotton lining. This means that with the wool hats, none of the wool touches your skin. The cotton, hemp or linen hats are good for mid-weather or summertime. If you are out and about in one of these hats, and its especially hot weather, you can always dunk the hat in cold water and throw it on your head.

And Now, the Hats!
Why are the hats numbered?
(As you explore the links on this page you will quickly see the numbers in the title of each hat. All hats have names like, Sports Cap #222 or Touring Cap #007.)
Any hat number can be added to the order form right here and we can start a conversation about the perfect hat for you. Or, choose a few hat numbers if you like! With these hat numbers we will cross reference available fabrics. We might still have the exact fabric of the hat number you choose, or maybe something similar. The conversation will evolve naturally by phone, text, or email. Whatever you prefer. It is very possible this will lead to hat or two, just for you.
