The center of our presentation is the maintenance of hat booth inventory, made in various sizes and colors. The majority of our customers purchase from this ever-changing inventory, in person (see our Tour page) or using our ~ Size Specific Ready Made ~ option.
We also make hats exact to size. Your special order hat(s) will be shipped to you via US Mail, to wherever you are, in the United States or around the world. The cost is simply the price of your hat plus postage. If you want an estimation of the cost of shipping your hat, our contact information is at the bottom of this page.
This is How it Works
Our Process
To make your Hat People Hat tailored to size, we need time to finish the Hat. Touring Caps and Sports Caps are brought to where setting the size is the very next step. It is at this point, approximately halfway to completion, that we await your order. It usually takes five to seven weeks to complete a hat order, we do not accept payment until your hat is ready to be shipped. Our standard way of being paid for a hat is to send you an invoice by email, this uses a software application called Square, which allows you to pay us securely online. We can make other arrangements if you prefer to pay by check, money order, or another way. At the risk of repeating myself: You will NOT pay for your hat as part of the ordering process. You will be invoiced once the hat is complete.

For those who wish to get more involved in the design of their hat: Fabric Library Special Order Hat prices are listed on the Info page. The Hat People Fabric Library is truly grand, built over years of sourcing natural fabrics of wool, linen, cotton, and hemp. Although the Hat Library Page is geared mainly towards people interested in our ~ Size Specific Ready Made ~ option, it can also be used to design a hat from uncut fabric.
However, this option is not encouraged. We truly make the hats, and that means our ability is limited. Hat Library Special Orders might take a year to complete, or maybe… no promises… Hat booth inventory, ~ Size Specific Ready Made ~ requests, and Hat Catalog Special Orders have already got us running at top speed most of the year.
