Let’s Make You a Hat
Yes, we are Artisan Hatmakers
The center of our presentation is the maintenance of hat booth inventory, made in various sizes and colors. The majority of our customers purchase from this ever-changing inventory, at festivals and weekend markets of the Pacific Northwest (see our Tour page).
We also make hats exact to size. Your special order hat(s) will be shipped to you via US Mail, to wherever you are, in the United States or around the world. The cost is simply the price of your hat plus postage. If you want an estimation of the cost of shipping your hat, our contact information is at the bottom of this page.
This is How it Works
Our Process
To make your Hat People Hat tailored to size, we need time to finish the Hat. Our line of Catalog Hats are brought to where setting the size is the very next step. It is at this point, approximately halfway to completion, that we await your order. It usually takes five to seven weeks to complete a hat order. We do not accept payment until your hat is ready to be shipped. People usually pay by credit/debit card via an online “Square” invoice, but there are also other options.
The Touring Cap
Throughout history this style of hat has been known by many names, including Fisherman’s Hat, Tam O’Shanter, Scally, Baker Boy Hat, Golf Hat, Scottish Sheperd’s Hat, Irish Hat, Driving Cap, Gatsby, Button Top, Lundberg Stetson, Longshoreman's Hat, Big Apple, and Newsboy Cap. This hat has a cloth bill that can be rolled up for your pocket and still stay resilient. All our hats have a cotton lining and are designed to be washable (hand wash, cold water, line dry).
Working One on One
For those who wish to get more involved in the design of their hat: more time is needed. The Hat People Fabric Library is truly grand, built over years of sourcing natural fabrics of wool, linen, cotton, and hemp. We are certainly willing to answer your questions (phone: 888 930 4287).
Also check out the Fabric Library Page. It is a vast reference of possible fabrics. You’ll find a Fabric Library Hat Special Order Form at the bottom of the page, just scroll down!
