Special Order TC09

Touring Cap of Linen/Cotton Tweed, shale & nautical

$67

This is what we call a Touring Cap. Throughout history this style of hat has been known by many names, including Fisherman’s Hat, Tam O’Shanter, Scally, Baker Boy Hat, Golf Hat, Scottish Sheperd’s Hat, Irish Hat, Driving Cap, Gatsby, Button Top, Lundberg Stetson, Longshoreman's Hat, Big Apple, and Newsboy Cap. This hat has a cotton lining, a cloth bill that can be rolled up for your pocket and still stay resilient; and the hat is designed to be washable (hand wash, cold water, line dry).

The fabrics of these two hats is a cotton-linen blend, from a distinct palette of colors we call Essek. This natural fiber blend is excellent as we move into Spring and on to Summer. It is unusual among nonwools, in that, it is yarn dyed and then woven; creating a Linen/Cotton Tweed, that washes well in cool water. One color is Shale Essek- it is a cross weave of medium grey-brown and silvery grey-blue. The fabric’s wholistic color effect is a light grey earth tone with great depth. The second color is called Navy Essek- a cross weave of very dark blue and light blue, making a medium blue of great depth. If you are interested in purchasing this hat, made special order exact to your size, please read the entire order form below before proceeding.

This hat is a Touring Cap, meaning that you must choose a "Cut" for your hat style. If you do not understand this differentiation, there are four different Touring Cap “Cuts”. See video HPTV3 on the Media Page for details.
